Page 1 of X-Box - im not sure!!!

im pretty impressed with its launch line-up with titles such as halo, jet set radio, amped and championship manager but its that damn inititial outlay of £300!
anyway does anyone know if aussie games would be compatible with a uk machine. also this goes for the ps2 as well.

Jet Set Radio - do you really want to pay £300 to play re-hashed Dreamcast games when you can get a real Dreamcast for about £60? ;-)

Halo looks quite nice mind.

Anyway, I don`t see why Aussie games wouldn`t work on a UK XBox - as far as I know the XBox doesn`t have any regional protection. The PS2 does, but there are only three regions - "NTSC Japan", "NTSC US/Canada", and "PAL" - so again, Australian PS2 releases will work on a UK machine.

Compared with DVDs, you`re unlikely to save anything by buying from Australia though - most games retail at about $100, equivalent to £35 or so. Look at Play`s prices for comparison.

its just that at the moment x-box games bought from dvdcrave equate to around £26 plus p&p.

I agree- the x-box titles look quite tempting, however I`ve just bought a Dreamcast with 2 controllers and a VMU, with Metropolis Street Racer, Virtua Tennis 2, Shenmue, Sonic Adventure and Quake 3 for £75.00!! The Dreamcast may be clinically dead, but there are still plenty of PS2 beaters to be bought ;-)

i`m definatly not be buying an Xbox for that fact that most of the games are comming out on ps2 apart from the obvious Xbox exclusives like Halo and Munch, and i`ve been told from somone in the industry that Microsoft are aiming for a £55-£60 per game price...

l got a DREAMCAST too and its games beat anything PS2 has right now (Yeah, l know, Snake is returning!) and with Gamecube hitting the stores for £150 (and lets face it, Nintendo make GREAT games) , l think l`ll stick with SEGA just for now!

Get the PS2, it has already won the console war.

The PS2 probably has the ugliest graphics out of all the latest consoles apart from MGS.

Metal Gear Solid 2 is the only game that could compare with anything on the newer consoles....GameCube and X-Box.

Most PS2 games are jaggie looking and unoriginal, even FFX looks rough round the edges.

I import my consoles when they are released and have DC PS2 GC and an X-box and can tell you the X-box and Gamecube are miles ahead of the PS2 in terms of graphics and origionality, even Shenmue 2 shows it up on Dreamcast.

I have had my PS2 since it was released in Japan and have seen nothing to make it look Next generation.

If you are going to buy one console, go for the Gamecube...its fairly cheap and will have great games,

most of the big developers have signed up to it....Sega.....Namco and Capcom are bringing all the RE games exclusive to it.

the xboxs graphics are not miles ahead, please dont lie.
