Page 1 of Playstation 2 Price drop?

Does anyone know if the price of the ps2 is going to drop again, or will it stay the same as the x box is going to be £300

I think Sony are more worried about Nintendo at this point, what with their £150 Gamecube. I think I heard they are planning to bring them down to around £170.

the price is going to drop but only if you buy it as the metal gear solid 2 bundle pack which is out on 22nd march.price £225. the only down side is that you dont get the 2 disc speacial edition of the game that is being released on the 8th march.you only get the game which is a bit of a swizz.

i heard a rumour that it was going to be dropped to around the £149 mark to directly compete with the game cube.

GameCube is no longer to be sold at £149. All retailers have put it up to £165 or thereabouts. Amazon will honour all preorders for £149 though.

A lot of chains complained to Nintendo and said they won`t stock it at £150, hence the price rise.

As for PS2 dropping in price, more likely that Sony will produce more `value bundles` like the MGS2 pack (300k units to be shipped to retail across Europe on March 22). There`s the PS2 Platinum range to start shipping in March as well, including GT3, Tekken Tag Tourn, DoA3, F1 2001 for £19.99.

I don`t see any reason for Sony to drop the price of hardware with £19.99 games and more bundles coming out.

I did hear about a ps2 price drop, but all has gone quiet since - theres still not enough ps2s to meet demand (ie everyone keeps selling out) so it might be later rather than sooner!

There is going to be a PS2 price drop in the beginning of march when the Xbox comes out.. The PS2 will then retail at £170

i heard a rumour the ps2 will be sold for 199 later this year with the Hard drive and broadband adapter

how do u know that there is going to be a price drop though, have u heard a rumour or what?
