Yep, and the several personal insults were the finishing touches. So, when did I call individual people? Did I call people for liking Vice City? No. I said I don`t like it and it was my OPINION that there are much better games - which I then listed.

I stopped posting on here about 6 months ago because I was sick of all the open talk about piracy, the childish responses and all the fanboy crap. The fanboy stuff seemed to have gotten better since Ironduke disappeared/grew up but apparently nothing else has changed. The rest of DVD reviewer is pretty good (general, hardware and software forums) but this console forum is, well, crap. Last time I`ll bother to post on here.

Which games do I play?

I`ve just finished The Wind Waker, and that`s probably one of the best games I`ll ever play tbh. My favourite games include the likes of Ikaruga, Monkey Ball, Metroid, Mario, Pro Evo 2, Burnout 2, Animal Crossing, Resident Evil series, Final Fantasy series, Shenmue, Virtua Tennis, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Daytona, Sega Rally and a few others

I played the PS2 version of VC btw. tbh, at the time, Vice City seemed like a bit of fun but I always thought it was way over-rated. When I got a GC in December, I didn`t touch Vice City again because I was too busy with games like Monkey Ball and Mario Sunshine. I sold VC a few weeks ago and will never regret it.

There`s nothing wrong with people liking it, but IMO there are much, much better games available.

Thanks for the suggestions. I did actually try the PSX idea when I was in Game, but the cases were just a few mm short. I wasn`t too happy :D

I`ve been looking for ones for double CD cases as well, but the only ones I can find are the ones with the little spine in the middle, for the gap in the (really) old double CD cases. I`ll keep looking around though.

The game I played was bugged and obviously rushed. And I know a lot of people who said very similar things: Cars falling through the floor, people walking into walls and fire, plus the game crashed on at least 5 seperate occasions. I played the game through until the asset missions btw, so I did experience at least 2/3 of the game.


Yes, I knew it was violent - that didn`t bother me. I`m mature enough to know it`s only a game. Other people aren`t though - do you really think all those 14/15 year olds who have the game understood the violence? I certainly don`t

I bought it because I wanted to play in a `virtual city` as it was touted. I thought it would be good but it turned out to be crap IMO. Simple as that. At the very least, it`s the worst game I`ve bought in years

There is a sequel to VC in production, a new game (San Andreas I think?) AND GTA4 in production. Plus a new game which is to be a launch title for the next consoles. Oh and GC/Xbox ports of VC this Christmas. Not recycled then? It sure looks like it to me. They might as well just stick a `The Sims` logo on the box.

It`s my opinion that it`s a crap game. If you don`t agree, then fine. I`m not childish enough to argue over a game (and I`m sure you don`t want to either). Sorry for hijacking the thread.

Who needs games like Metroid Prime or Castlevania: Aria Of Sorrow when we have gems like Vice City being rehashed and recycled every year?

One of the worst games in years (yes, worse than Vice City) - bugged, flawed, illogical, terrible controls, laughable graphics, too easy.

If you`re thinking of getting it to understand more about the last film then don`t bother, you`ve not missed much. Just go to gamefaqs.com and read it from there.

In my defence :), I had read the early models couldn`t play them and just assumed the same applied to all models. I know the recent Japanese 50000 series can definitely play them though

Storage for PAL DC games?

I need to find somewhere else to store all my PAL DC games. I had dedicated 4 small shelves (about 8 games on each) but I`ve run out of space now

So (and I know it`s a long shot) does anyone know where I can get hold of a DC box-holder. Or perhaps some kind of CD/DVD holder that is wide enough to support DC games? I saw a glass on in Comet that looked nice, but I worked out that it could only hold about 25 games, which isn`t enough.

So, any suggestions? I`m looking for a DC storage cabinet or rack, but anything that can hold DC box-sized cases would be ideal

I got a 730,000 combo today in Chicago. I was doing the high score challenge (900000) and managed to get that combo. Bloody hard too :)

Apart from that, my usual combos are about 300,000 - 400,000. One challenge on the Circus level is to get a 500,000 point combo...that one took hours for me to do

edit: do a special on a half pipe, revert, manual, special manual (handstand flip is best one to do) then do lots of variations of special manuals, manual to a grind/another half pipe and repeat. Easy :)

DVD compare say it is only 15 seconds of a commentary...not exactly essential viewing IMO. I`ve watched all 22 commentaries and in that particular episode I didn`t notice anything had been cut so I don`t really care about that. The daredevil episode wasn`t cut either.
And £10 more is probably worth it to watch it 3 weeks earlier because, after all, its the Simpsons :)

Well done for finally cracking it. I`d been messing about on Excel looking for a way to do it. Couldnt find anything, had just started testing macros to change cell colour etc but couldnt get one to work properly. Oh well.

Hi. Sorry it wasn`t that then. Don`t think I know how to do it then, it was almost 2 years since I did my Excel project and have forgotten how to do some of the more complex stuff. I will ask my mates who know about Excel to try and help out.

From what I remember from my A Level ICT, you can do this with a V-Lookup table. Have you tried this? I personally hate using Vlookup because it is difficult to set up and isn`t really worth it IMO. It makes a table of information that you need to input into the sheet and changed another cell based on that information.

I can`t remember how to use it to sort you out though, never did anything like that in my project. Anyway try looking for help on Vlookup in Excel. That should sort your problem out.

DVD-ROM and multi-region problem

Hi

Just got a new PC and was using my DVD-ROM drive and noticed I could play Region 1 discs. All was well until earlier on when i got an error message saying the drive was locked to region 2.

I later found out it was because the software I use (Cyberlink PowerDVD) lets me use 5 multi region viewings and then locks itself to region 2. Have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software but to no avail. Any suggestions?
