I was down at my local library browsing cookery books (as you do), when I noticed that it now has region 2 DVDs! I know it`s been a long time since I`ve been to the library and so was pleasantly surprised. £1 per week is a bargain, so next week I`ll try Snore Harbour, Tomb Raider, Blue Planet and Space.
But where do these public libraries get their money from? I know my local council (Haringey) is strapped for cash as it is and was threatening to close libraries. Anyone out there know?
Is DVD in libraries a common sight now?

My local library has a wall of English VHS, a rack of Hindi movies, shelves full of music CD`s, Playstation and PC games and has recently put in shelving for soon anticipated DVDs, they charge between 1 and 2 pound for a weeks rent and they pretty much rake it in. They also have 5 or so PCs affering internet access. My question is, where did they put that shelf of books again?

There is probably some sort of library licence, which is paid automatically then the DVDs are bought at a cheap price. I doubt they would pay full RRP.

Having Libraries with DVD`s is a very good idea. £2.50 a week here in Salisbury. Now if only the people using them would stop damaging them and treat them like their own!!. Scream 3 was unplayable after an hour!!.
