My letter of complaint to Amazon.co.uk

floyd_dylan (Elite) posted this on Friday, 13th November 2009, 12:33

I apologise if it`s not grammatically correct, I`ve just woke up from nights, and have been on the phone for nearly an hour ranting like a lunatic.

Quote:
I've been waiting for my Blu Ray player for over a week, and I was tracking the product from the pick up point right through to Sc***horpe, which sat around the depot on the 11th November, the day, it was supposed to be delivered, and on the 12th, it was finally put in one of their vans and out for delivery.

I waited from 8am right through till 7pm, I kept checking the tracker which stated it was still in the van. By 18:30, still no sign. I checked the tracker at 19:30, and it stated that it was returned back to depot at 19:15. I rang on the Friday 12th November, fuming, as my blu ray was still in their depot, and ranted down the phone as to why it's not out for delivery today?

They said they had trouble finding my address yesterday, so it went back`. I said to them, `So why is it still in your depot now`? They responded, `we couldn`t find the area so it's still in the depot`, so I fired back, 'doesn't your driver have sat nav?' To which he replied, 'we think he does, all though he could be using a map'.

So they said that they can try to re-deliver it Monday, and I had to go on google map, to tell them the roads he needed to take and a very detailed description on where I lived, which is near the city centre, Royal Mail has no difficulty find my area.

They don't deliver at weekends, so now I've got to wait again on Monday 16th between the hours of 8am till 7pm, which they said might come at 16:30, but he couldn't guarantee it though

I slammed the phone down, and I rang your company to complain, which at first the lady couldn't understand my order number, I had to talk very very slowly, and she even got my number wrong twice, kept getting the number zero mixed up with the number one. I told them about my complaint, and basically after spending almost fifteen minutes on the phone, she couldn't do anything about it.

I suggested that they get the blu ray player off them, and send me another one from the Amazon depot, so I can have it for tomorrow, they replied, that they couldn't because HDNL don't deliver on Saturdays. Now bearing in mind you used to when you was with Royal Mail, also your website stated that you could deliver it by 1pm on Saturday when I ordered my Blu Ray player on the Friday 6th November.

I am absolutely disgusted with this lack of service, as the Royal Mail strike is over, I suggest you go back to them, as HDNL are useless at their job, and it's coming up to Christmas, and there will be a lot of disappointed customers who might not receive their products on time caused by HDNL's lack of navigational skills.

Regards

Stuart Yates.

Sorry to hear about your predicament but I did giggle at the naughty language filtering out on the Yorkshire location.

Hope the player is worth the wait.

I hate home delivery network why can`t amazon go back to royal mail? I went to hdn`s depot to collect a parcel last week and a woman there gad driven further to their depot than it would have been to drive to Swansea and collect from amazon`s depot. Madness

Sorry to hear its taking a while.

Don`t trust them when they say they may be able to deliver at a set time but can`t guarantee it...they just want you off the phone, half the complaints I used to receive at work were because the team had said things like "we can request a timed slot, but can`t guarantee it", and then just put it through on normal service. I loved being the supervisor :/

Oh, and I thought Sc***horpe was just a horrid place and that was why it was blanked til someone pointed it out...oops!

I was looking at their website, and it states that they do deliver on Saturdays, so that`s another load of bulls*** they told me yesterday. I rang them up today, and they told me that I had to give them 24 hours notice for them to put it in the van.

The tossers!!! >:(

My job involves a lot of mail order transactions, and as much as I sympathise with you, I also sympathise with Amazon here too. As you have entered a contract with them to supply your blue ray player, they too have entered a contract with HDN to take it from their depot, and deliver it to you.
On countless times, I have done my best to process an order, and get it out for next day delivery, only to have our courier let me down with the kind of feeble excuse that you were given, that the driver couldn`t find the address... These days, a driver doesn`t even need a sat nav - a phone with an internet connection, and google maps is all that is needed, but still I get that kind of excuse on an all too regular occurrence.

Fingers crossed your player turns up soon sir :)

Live a life you love, use a god you trust, and don`t take it all too seriously

A courier that doesn`t know how to deliver :/ , even my favorite Chinese take away use sat-nav ,you must be entitled to some compensation for the day wasted waiting for a delivery firm not to deliver your goods .....I reckon £30.00.. :)
