Complete collection of Classic Star Wars figures...what would be the value...?

FizzyBear (Competent) posted this on Monday, 12th May 2008, 17:40

I`ve just been tidying up all my old toys and cataloging what`s there and I have a complete set of all the old Palitoy/Kenner Star Wars figures from 1977 through to the final 17 released from Return Of The Jedi, including the rare Han Solo in Carbonite, Amanaman and Luke in Stormtrooper disguise!

Does anyone have any idea how much such a collection would be worth or could you point me in the direction of somewhere that might know? All the figures are loose but have all their original accessories. Most are in excellent C7-8 condition while some are definite C9.

Not sure if I want to part with them yet as they do look retro cool, but I`m just curious...

they are worth exactly what someone is willing to pay... but i do know that a shop in Plymouth a few years ago called `Purple Haze`, who specialized in film and tv bits and pieces as well as comics, was charging upto £80 for some single figures depending on rarity... so i am guessing but i would say you are safely into four figures?

although a full set here on ebay currently at £360 linky

Recognise all the others though...mostly.

That would be Amanaman - not quite sure why he warranted an action figure seeing as he was barely visible in the background of Jabba`s palace in ROTJ!!!

Hell! I had a blue Snaggletooth when I was a nipper. I took it into school one day and lost it in the playground!?!

Does anyone ever remember when Palitoy released `The Death Star` in the late 70`s? It was on sale for a few months but was taken off the shelves as it did not reflect the true immense size of the battle station in the film. I remember reading about 10 years ago that this same model...in it`s original packaging...was going for about £500!!!!!!???!!??

Well, this is my kind of topic.

The price all depends on the quality of the figure. Does it have the original weapon that came with it? (not a reproduction that many sellers on ebay offer with original figures)

Some figures had variants, like Han Solo had a small head, then a larger head version.Luke had yellow hair, then blonde/brown hair ect ect. This will determine price, but if they are the standard type of figures, with original weapons, then most will go for between £5 - £15 each, except the "last 17" figures, which will go for more.

Had they been in the original packaging, then you would be looking at starting prices of £40 each, with some fetching several hundred pounds! :o

I have the price guide book(s) that are used to give an indication of each figures worth. If you need more info, give me a shout, i could have a look for you, as long as i know what figures they are and condition / version.

:)
