Just got a phone call - We are off to Canada, visa has been approved.

YEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA




I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

I hate answering the phone at work - It disturbs my sleep. :)

Thanks guys, this place will probably have to suffer a blog type as things move onwards.

OK we have to land between now & the first anniversary of the medical 06-09-08, now that does not mean we have to settle.

Once landed we have to physically be in Canada for two years in a rolling 5 year period, to keep our residency valid, after 3 years physical presence we can apply for citizenship, & then we are free to come & go as we wish with no further restrictions.

If the plan had stuck to schedule we would have gone after S4\Summer half term this year.

Normally we would have had about 10 months to go from the visa being issued, but with all the delays, the possibility that the visa wasn`t going to happen, James has signed up for a 2 year HND so we will be hanging back for 12 - 18 months as THO doesn`t want him left on his own & aged father\family\friends don`t want him as a lodger except as a short term arrangement, so we will probably go after Christmas 2009 & he follows us out after his exams.
