Page 1 of got a GameCube for xmas... the future arrives!!!

before you all waffle on about the ps2 with gta3 etc, i already own a ps2 and am very impressed with it. but now the gc has arrived, its a new ball-game altogether. luigis mansion and rogue leader have just blown me away! amazing audio, no graphical glitching, innovative gameplay touches, no loading times, the the most georgeously ergonomic pad ever created. the list goes on... i now may flog my ps2 but for pro evolution soccer. the true `next generatiopn` has arrived.....!

na ive had a dabble on one it certainly aint the leap the PS2 is over the PS1, I think your getting a little carried away, also alot of people dont like those silly mario kids games( no offence meant )

also wouldnt you expect it to be better seeing that it will be released 18 months after the ps2?

Im sure sony could whip the gamecube 18 months from its release.

Could be the killer game for Gamecube. You almost feel like u are flying over the deathstar - Red 5 standing by!

and lets not talk about the GC version of SSX tricky which looks crapper and slower then the PS2`s!

Ive not played on the Gamecube yet, someone has told me how amazing Rogue Squadron is though. But to say that you want to get rid of your PS2 is a bit mad!

I think you saying Pro Evolution is the only game worth having is wrong, because you cant have played Devil May Cry, and how can you criticise GTA3!? No way! Sort it out mate! And Metal Gear WILL be amazing.

The thing that puts me off about the Nintendo is too much cutesy stuff, I hate Mario so much!

I seen the screenshots of the Resident Evil game coming out for the Gamecube (I love Resi), and it looks like theyre not just going for cutesy stuff this time.

At the end of the day Im happy with my PS2, but if the Gamecube is good, I would buy one, but I WONT get rid of my PS2! Whats wrong with having more than one console anyway!?

Ah yes... Of course we all know that the GameCube (with the now GC only Resident Evil games and remakes) will be all cute and cuddly. Not to mention the fact it has some of the best games lined up for it which blow away anything the X-Box and PS2 have to offer. Also let us not forget the claims of how the PS2 was so powerful, yet the final specs where about 30% less than announced and that all the game companies can`t do s*** with it thanks to the less than stellar hardware. Quite frankly the X-Box and GC will prove how much the PS2 is nothing more than the Dreamcast with less on board memory and crapper games. Oh, and 4 games or so isn`t anything to be proud of. Devil May Cry isn`t the greatest game ever created, GTA3 is good but nowhere great as everyone mentions. The only good game is Silent Hill 2, and maybe the upcoming Suikoden 3.

Yes, Sony fanboys you enjoy yourselves. When all of us have our new X-Boxes and GC`s and you`re stuck waiting for the PS3 which supposedly is already on the way we`ll be the ones enjoying it.

I think Nintendo and Microsoft may have made a big mistake holding back the releases of their consoles.

I don`t think either of them can challenge the PS2s market domination. At first I thought the PS2 would bomb but right now it is so strong. It has suberb games like GTA3, GT3 and Evolution Soccer plus incoming are Metal Gear Solid 2 (surely to be the best game in the world) and Max Payne.

It will be the same old story for Nintendo, they have a crap opening games line up as usual. They have only really been succesful with the SNES and GameBoy. All their other projects seem to have dies on their arse. For once I won`t be buying Nintendos new console.

As for Microsoft it looks more promising but I have the feeling that the XBox will bomb. Bill Gates surely can`t be market leader in games consoles. Microsoft got where they are by buying the opposition. XBox can`t do that with Sony.

If the 2 new consoles were released within 6 months of the PS2 it could have been a different story.

dont worry im not going to sell my ps2! however the main reason i say gc is the better is down to one word - `innovation`. on the ps2 take gta3 and devil may cry. theyre undeniably both really good games (i have both!) but they offer absolutely nothing new in terms of innovation! i know rogue leader 2 is hardly innovative but take luigis mansion. in this game there are more brilliant subtle touches and ideas in any game ive ever played on the ps2. so thats why im in a bit of a lather.....

having played ps2, xbox and gc - i can honestly say that xbox is the dogs bo##ocks! Wait til you play Halo! It truly is an awesome game. At the end of the day it comes down to marketing! Sony always have the inferior machine, but still end up on top! (even though out of 300 ps2 games availlable, about 5 are any cop - and it`s a pooh dvd player!)
I will be first in line on march14th for my xbox, that`s for sure!

also with the new firmware the PS2 is as capable as any ESS player.

also the PS2 has improved its recent releases have been very good and for 2002 got take alook at the list on the DVD Times forum!
