I wouldn`t have thought 60 pints over a 4 day period was that much,but depriving oneself of any other kind of sustenance is,as I`m sure the `gentleman` himself would put it,"pure dead stupit,by ra way"...

15 Pints per day is much, much to MUCH. Even 15 pints in one day only, is much, much TOO MUCH. The money side alone would be a lot. Around here it is at least £2.50 a pint. Taking that as the bench mark it would have cost him £37.50 per day making a total of £150.00. Even drunk at home it would have been around £60.00. If he can afford that & put himself in that position through his own stupidity or neglect then he should be made to pay the bill.

He could argue that the amount of tax he paid on Alcohol would contribute towards some of the costs of his treatment
