POLL: If you had £70k to to spend on a car.....
Its basically a Luxury Vs. Performance debate........
Basically I`d just want a Phat ride so i`d probably go for the Range Rover to bowl around with my mates in a la Entourage style...........not too fussed about speed....i`ve got 11 bloody points on my license anyway.....
So i`m a luxury man.....u??
RE: POLL: If you had £70k to to spend on a car.....
Seen the depreciation on some of the motors in that sort of bracket ?
One of my clients bought a £73K Merc 500 for £38K last week,14 months old.
I know of another bloke that was going to buy an Audi S3,but got a £60K BMW M6 for £32K,barely two years old.
I don`t car how minted you are, anyone`s going to cry at depreciation like that. :/
For the record,I`d probably go for one of those new Merc saloons with the curvy back.
I forget the model designation.
RE: POLL: If you had £70k to to spend on a car.....
Wouldnt want a "Chelsea Tractor", dont like Mercs and the only thing i;d do with anything which had a BMW badge on it is sell it (NB that is not a reflection on the quality and efficiency of the car)
I;ve always wanted a noble (largely following the fact that my mate had 2) so i;d possibly end up with change from 70K
Of those you listed it has to be the 911

Maserati Spyder. If I am going to blow £70K on a car I want something with style.

mmm...Mercedes CLS?
In which case i drove the CLS 320 diesel recently and i couldnt believe how quick it was......so awesome.....however....wasnt over impressed with the plasticky aircon dials....they looked they were gona fall off...:/

Companies that have p**sed me off so much that I will never use them again and I hope you dont either....
Jacks Fish & Chips of Cambridge ridiculously overpriced and overpackaged chips. £1.20 for a stupidly small portion of chips - they need to go up north for a good lesson in fish and chips
Alloy Bodies of Manchester - The Grand Daddy & Benchmark for shockingly poor customer service.
Capital Bank Leasing who are part of [B]BOS & are f**ing useless & struggle to action the smallest request but are fantastically efficient at taking money out of my account
[B]Abbey National Absolutely diabolical service - how hard is it to change £60 of coins into notes????
....more coming soon no doubt.....

I`m playing it safe with the Merc, I`m sure the other half would be happy with this choice aswell. Assured for quality & sophistication, yeah I`ll have a bit of that. Don`t think I`ll worry myself with any depreciation concern either.
Pete :)

RE: POLL: If you had £70k to to spend on a car.....
In our street of 42 houses we have the following
A Maserati something or other ( the noise,my god :o )
A Lotus Esprit
A Porsche 911
A Porsche Cayenne
A RS4 Avant
A BMW 6 series
A pimped up drug dealer Q7,which bugs the s*** out of me
A Merc CLS
I refer to our house as `the gatehouse`,for two reasons.
1/ We`re the first house in the street
2/ We`re by far the poorest c***s in the street. :/ :D
RE: POLL: If you had £70k to to spend on a car.....
and yet i bet you are probably the least deserving members of the street when it comes to being described as "a c**t"

They`re all nice enough Fowler,in a slightly detached from reality sort of way.
Money,or the lack of,just doesn`t come into their day to day lives.
For example,I know for a fact Colin (the Cayenne owner) often goes for a night out with more in his pocket than we have as disposable income for the month. :/
I`d also take a stab that we`re the only ones left with a mortgage. :(
We were talking with one of the neighbours (Merc CLS and Audi TT) about furniture the other day and she was saying she got rid of her suite.
At which point her daughter piped up "was that to those poor people mummy ?"
To be fair to the mother, she was deeply embarrassed. :D

well at the end of the day she`s the one who should instill the value of the great british pound to her daughter - not sure she`s quite accomplished it yet by that comment though :-)
