Page 1 of RIP: My mum
General Forum
Just a quick post to update everyone who posted kind words of support in my previous thread about mum`s cancer diagnosis.
I left home early this morning to visit her and just as I got to Cornwall after a 4hour drive we got the message to come to the hospice where she has been for the last week or so. Unfortunately we got there too late and mum passed away in her sleep at 9:05am, about 20 minutes before we got there. The original plan was to leave home mid morning and visit her this afternoon with my sister and dad. For some reason last night I decided to reset my alarm to 4am and get an early start.
I just wanted to say a big thanks to all those who posted words of support before and thought it only right to keep you updated. And a big thanks to the nurses, doctors and volunteer support staff at St Julias Hospice in Hayle, Cornwall, who helped make mums last days as comfortable for her as they could.
Jeanette Ashenden 1944 - 2007. I`ll love you always mum.

Condolences from here also.

My prayers to you and family.
My condolences on your loss mate. :(
I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.
I hate answering the phone at work - It disturbs my sleep.
So Sorry. May your mother R.I.P.
