Futurama is coming out on Region 2 dvd Jan. Here is the press release:

Twentieth Century Fox have announced "Futurama" for release 28th January priced at £39.99. The box set will contain 3 disks all presented with a full frame 4:3 image and DD 2.0 sound.. Here`s the run down:

BUT does anyone know when the Region 1 discs are coming out??

£39.99 is steep when l`m guessing (like Simpsons) the REGION 1 set will be selling for £17.99

i`m afraid this will be a region 2 only (well at the moment) fox is unable to distribute Futurama due to legal reasons, somthing about having to show them on Tv for a certan amount of time.

OK, so whats the bets the R1 release will be better to make up for this delay?

i reacon the R1 will have DTS sound, 12 disks big, and only £17.99 .

Kain^, it`s more likely financial reasons than `legal` reasons. Fox can make far more money through repeat showings in syndication if they don`t release the DVDs Stateside. This is why R1 Buffy was delayed. Fox can legally release them when they like, since they make the show.

well i read in a DVD magazine that Fox are locked into a contarct over every show they show on TV, they have to show them on TV for a period of time before they can release them on Video + DVD.
