Always been a Sony man, until now.
Bought myself a nice little Casio Exilim EX-S770.
It uses SD cards.
What`s a good make ?
Is an SD card an SD card,or do I have to look for one specifically for that make/model of camera ?
I can find plenty for Casio cameras on ebay, but none of them specifically mention the EX-S770. :/
RE: Digital camera advice - SD cards
an sd card is an sd card, at least in my experience - I`ve got a range of different brands and haven`t noticed one type being better than another
RE: Digital camera advice - SD cards
Kingston seems to be a brand that`s prolific on ebay.
Any experience ?
I note there are SD and micro SD cards.
Even Casio`s own website doesn`t really tell you what kind to use. :/

Hi there, that page when scrolled to near the bottom tells you that you can use either SD / MMC (like SD but thinner so can be used in some phones too) & MicroSD with an adapter. To be honest, with the cost of SD being so truly ridculous at the moment you may as well stick with that. You can get 2GB SD cards delivered for about a tenner & even 4 GB delivered for about £20.00!! I have happily used Kingston / PQI & even generic cards in the past with no problems. Toshiba even make them for some companies who then rebrand them. Best of luck & nice camera too. :)

Bowfer,
as mentioned in other replies, SD is SD but has numerous variants:-
SD / Micro SD / Mini SD
the micro and mini SD cards normally come with an adaptor which is
basically a hollowed out regular sized SD card so that they can also
fit regular SD compatible devices.
brands? Kingston / PNY will suffice.

First take back the Casio & buy a decent camera. Canon, Panasonic, Nikon, Fuji, Olympus
& even Sony. I know someone who had two casio & both went wrong & to me they`re cameras are not much better than philips stuff, In the end, on my advice they bought a Canon camera & have thanked me ever since (i`ve never had a Canon as a matter of interest). Now you have a good camera look for a card. I`ve used the Kingston SD cards with no problems in my Nikon & Panasonic cameras.

Just to redress the balance, I`ve had a Canon A60, Ixus i5, SD500, A95 & am now on an A620, I bought my lad an A610. I love Canon cameras...however, through all of this, Dad`s had Casios & not one has ever gone pop on him & he`s more than happy with the picture quality...he also uses a big Nikon DSLR for his "proper" photography but the Casios are with him all the time & he has more framed pictures from these than the Nikon...best of luck with it bowfer.

I have a Casio Ex-4 old school camera does the job nicely, with SD cards if you can afford it go for one with a higher speed rating should reduce the time between shots. I currently use a SanDisk Ultra I think if you can find one with a read/write speed of x133 you should be all set.
