anyone else take a long time to get home yesterday? my trip home which normally takes 30mins at the most took 3hours 40mins!it was a nightmare and there was still people driving like idiots.
Guy I work with spent 2.5 hours getting home to Sutton Coldfield from Burton-on-Trent.
For those that know Birmingham - a friend of mine who works at the Birmingham Conservatoire spent an hour getting from there (Paradise Circus) to Centenary Square. Turned round and parked back at work (40 minutes). Walked to New Street Station and got on a delayed train. Then walked the 3 miles from Bromsgrove station back to his house. Total time to get from work to home - 4 hours.
Another friend who lives in the Peak District was visiting his folks near Rotherham. He, his wife & their 3 month old baby gave up trying to get home and spent the night in a hotel in Sheffield.
I was fine though :D
Cheers

Luckily, My route home from work skirts ashford Town centre, so i`m not affected by the Throw a Six to start roadworks currently plaguing the ring road. The Other Driver, however, had to get from one side of town to the other to fill up (we can only use esso garages, and the only one in town is near J10 of the M20, which also has choking roadworks on it. Took him an hour.
