Has anyone been on one? Im looking to go next Summer, I hear Kenya is very good. Can anyone help me with where to stay, what to pay, etc. Cheers in advance :)
I have been to Kenya on Safari a few times it is a really amazing place. You can do a tour in which you stay over a few nights I would recommend 3 or 4 if it is your first time as you would want to see all of the animals. I have never not managed to see the big five in Kenya.
Also think of Tanzania as they have a safari park based in the crater of an old volcano so a lot of the animals cannot escape!! And its natural not cruel before so dont feel bad.
Hope this helps.
If you still need help with places to stay and prices drop me an email and I will try to dig up a few details for you.

I`ve been to Kenya although it was a good 10+ years ago, stayed in a place on the coast near Mombasa and had a fantastic time.
Decided to take a 4 day safari when we were there, I`m sure its cheaper to book ahead though. We went to Tsavo national parks (cant remember if it was West or East Tsavo), camped in the foothills of Kilimanjaro (get up early to see the snow capped peak - it`s always covered in cloud otherwise) with it`s own lake and resident fish eagle
The safari we used a lot of the old game lodges for amazing food, views and the pool but the best was staying one night in Salt Lick which is a hotel on stilts overlooking a watering hole.
Managed to see Elephant, Giraffe and a group of Lion devouring a recently killed Zebra. Also at Salt Lick a group of us saw a cheatah take a gazelle of some kind - amazing.
The poverty in Kenya was a bit of a shock, we took pens for the local school (not sweets as the kids cant get dental treatment even though they begged us for some) and everyone wants t-shirts, socks - anything basically. Most of us gave away a lot of holiday stuff when we left.
Keep your head about you if you venture out alone - we had an issue with a couple of Somalies which could`ve turned really nasty but that`s only `cos we did something dumb on the way to the crocodile park but a trip into Mombassa to see the old town and port went without a problem
Kenyans are very nice people everyone says "jumbo" (hello) to you. Thanks is "asante" and thank you very much is "asante sana".
BTW - the sun as you`d expect near the equator is viscious. We went in the Autumn and it was hot! so high summer might be too much. If you go on safari take a hat, one with a brim (I bought a soft safari bush hat in Mombassa) to keep the sun out of your eyes and off your head.
