Page 1 of So who`s won any of the DVD Reviewer Competitions?

I don`t want to appear cynical, but I`ve been trying most of the competitions for almost a year now without success. Just wanted to see if anyone`s won anything?

The winners are always announced on our "Site News" page, accessible via the link at the top left.

1500 people got the last question right and the five winners were: Deb Alexander, Michael Nutley, Mark Causer, Davina Williams and Helena Bower

Cheers Chris, hope you didn`t think I was being an arsehole. I was just interested in hearing from everyone that had won and what they won.
I wasn`t implying that the DVD Reviewer team was stashing all the prizes or anything like that!

I won "Unlawful Entry" back in about March 2000, before I joined the Reviewer team and became ineligble to enter any more competitions!

With 5 competitions on the go at the minute there are plenty of opportunities to win so don`t give up!

Well, I`ve just received "Amelie" courtesy of the recent Reviewer competition, so it can be done! (First thing I`ve won since I was about 8 years old!!)

The average entry rate for competitions is usually around the 1500 mark, so that means you have a x in 1500 chance of winning (where x is the number of copies we are giving away). But if you enter every single competition, your chances of winning eventually are actually exactly the same (pretty much anyway) as the odds of winning if you just enter one.

This is because if you enter two competitions, the odds you will win are (x * 2) in (1500 * 2), and so on * however many competitions you enter. But if you don`t enter, then your chances of winning a competition obviously drop somewhat. ;)

Still those are pretty good odds when the stake is £0.
