RE: rumours / sky digital to purchase itv digital ?
Ive got SKY Dig & also bought ITV Dig (for the sport), ITV didnt work & they told me I had to pay £40 to upgade my aerial so I told them in the most polite way to stick it ! After again consulting with SKY they told me that they are in negotiations to broadcast ITV Digital - NOT BUY IT - and they said they should ! have it up & running by christmas !! what year is your guess !!

I have also heard that Sky Digital are to broadcast ITV Digital, not purchase it, by Christmas.

the negotiations are still on going, but this will be purely a broadcasting agreement and nothing more. Sky wouldn`t be allowed to buy it anyway according to UK media owning rules. Hence why they didn`t win the Channel 5 franchise, like this would have made much of a difference!

Well, the gossip is that Granada, owning company of ITV digital are sooooo disapointed with sales etc, that they are discussing selling it to SKY digital. Hence the 5% increase in SKY shares this week.
As for ITV being on SKY before Xmas. I cant see it happening as it has been mooted all year and yet we still wait.

I would have thought ITVdigital were highly delighted with RECENT sales! You can`t get the prepaid deal anywhere (sold out!) Now, why do you think ITV digital has suddenly gotten soooo popular?? Have a look on www.ebay.co.uk and see just how much second-hand boxes are going for these days! Controversial viewpoint coming up: ITV digital are receiving LOTS of £6.99 per month from punters (i.e. the min. package). Say these punters were utilising `dodgy cards` to access all channels (including Sky), then I don`t suppose ITV digital have to pay Sky et al for these punter`s channels as to all intents and purposes they ARE`NT officially receiving them. Win-win situation?? Discuss.........
