General Forum
Has anyone watched this yet? (I think the first episode played earlier this week, may be wrong though :/ )
Just wondering what the general opinion is, and whether its worth downloading? Usually I would just download myself but due to getting slow download speeds in mine (because I can`t work out how to open the port on our wireless router >:( ), I have to do all my downloads at my mums house and I`m getting enough grief for going around and leaving her computer on to download Prison Break and The Wire.

RE: Heroes- New American Show
I watched it. I think its worth a watch.
The opening show was entertaining enough and I`ll be watching the second one...kind of like a less extreme version of X-Men :D
What`s "The Wire"....am I missing a good show?
Saying that, there`s too many shows on at the mo...
I`m currently watching Prison Break (season 2), My Name Is Earl (season 2), Entourage (season 3), Smith (season 1), Heroes (season 1), Extras (season 2) - and soon Lost (season 3) :D
EDIT - forgot Eureka (season 1)!
Post a message in the PC & Mobiles forum about your router and someone might be able to help with the port opening.

yes! there`s other threads here about how it`s a relatively unkown gem. Was only going to be 2 series, but due to demand got another one, then another. It`s a really really good cop/drug dealer show. Almost like NYPD Blue, meets the Sopranos! you`re routing for the bad guys to get away with murder, but at the same time, you want the cops to get them!
You have to start from the beginning of season 1 though really, but it`s well worth it.
As for heroes, is it better than Mutant X? Didn`t like that, but like 1st 2 X men movies

RE: Heroes- New American Show
Will have to check out The Wire then.
I didn`t like Mutant X that much as I thought it tried to be too much like X-Men
Heroes is more about people evolving essentially, with X-Men its all about the people having perfect skills/abilities from the start. Heroes is more about the people and there experiences with a new found talent. (From what I figured from the first episode)
Its not a big blockbuster Sci-fi show...more a drama with a bit of sci-fi thrown in.
Definitely worth a look IMHO

I watched it and really liked it, although the pilot episode was pretty flawed. Apparently it gets much better in the following episodes though, so I`ll definitely be keeping up to date with it.
There are loads of big reveals in the first episode too... makes a change to the "never tell the audience anything" feel of Lost lol. In fact there are a few moments involving paintings that made gave me goosebumps.
Also, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip is a great new show as well...

Justice (season 1) is excellent too. (Available Thursday mornings)

ER started last week.. and what an opening episode! whew.. Criminal Minds returned for a second series.. and although it`s trash.. it`s enjoyable trash... and Jericho had a promising pilot (the second episode was on last night)

Were you unable to claim your old HaGGis username?
Just got The Wire Season 1 to watch, never seen it but heard amazing things about it.
Forgetting CSI, 24 etc... what are the top 5 US series to watch?
Giggity giggity!
Right I`ll be downloading then. :)
The Wire is a brilliant show, it took me quite a few episodes to really get into, but is massively acclaimed in America. Has recently had a series 5 greenlit based on the reviews of the first episode of Series 4.

Yeah keep meaning to do that, but when I think I am in work and can`t remember the router we are using because it`s someone else`s will do it tonight though, because it looks like this thread could turn into a bit of a hotspot for the new shows worth giving a try.
