Just wondering what people thought. I always thought that red was more sophisticated (and though that everyone knew this) until i chatted with my girlfriend who reckoned white is. It seems we both happened to believe that whatever our parents preferred when we were growing up was sophisticated!

So which do you reckon?

Only certain countries (UK, America and Australia probably) have the notion of "sophistication" in wine.
The rest just drink it with a meal, be it red or white. The French don`t bother about what goes with what and also in Summer put the red in the fridge.

I depends on what youre eating. I didnt think any wine was particularly more sophisticated than another.

But, then again, on a wine lists, reds seem go to a much higher price scale. Also, I dont really like red wine, so its bound to be more sophisticated than white. I find white quite refreshing, but red is a bit much. But thats probably because im a peasant and never spend much on a bottle.....

Also, red gets you bladdered.....

So, in summary, its probably red, but I dont really know......

It would depend what make and year the wine was.

But I would say White served cool mainly because it doesn't make you teeth purple when you drink it :).
...
and I prefer red and am not very sophisticated :)
