I live in Bristol which a the moment seems the final destination of Somalian immigrant`s i don`t have a problem with immigrants in general before anyone shouts RACIST !!!!!!!! but it seems in this area where it appears hundreds of Somalians are being given their own miniature city there is trouble waiting to happen.
Within months of these immigrants from a poor and ravaged country arriving suddenly they are opening their own shops,cafe`s,internet cfe and some sort of place which copy`s cassette to cd,when i say Quote:
their own shops i mean shops for their own kind >:( ,it reached a stage last year when they put a sign in the window of an Internet cafe saying "NO WHITE OR BLACKS" that resulted in a car being driven through the front of the shop one night.
It seems a large amount of them just hang about in the shop door ways (day and night) or hang about in the aldi car park flaunting their flash cars (where is the f***ing money coming from).
At the end of the day i guess the blame is down to our goverment for puttting large numbers of them in small areas,but i can see this turning into a massive problem similar to the St Pauls riots of the 80`s.

I can see where you`re coming from, and no, I don`t think you`re being racist. The people who put that sign up in the door were, and should have been arrested for it

I can sympathise with you 100% on this issue. It`s sort of reverse racism by them and I agree that it is trouble waiting to happen. With so many damn do-gooder minorities around though not much is likely to happen.

No more "racist" (ie not) than pointing out that there are chavs causing mayhem.

Bit of history

It`s amazing what happens when you give things time...some even support Plaid Cymru 8) . In the end, they are an asset to the city, and have been for well over 100 years, but small sections of all communities, whether chav, Somali, English, Italian, Welsh cause problems when they move to other areas.

Any idea who drove the car through the window? I`m betting it was a white, English, chav car thief....(damn white folks!!!)....but of course that would be casting nasturtians.

I wouldn`t say it`s a racist thing to post at all, however, I am wondering what the point was. Are all Somali`s poor? Are all shops not allowing other cultures in?

Are you just jealous that they may have more money than you? ;)

Totally agree with you there dkuk2000. Popped up to Bristol the other day and there was a noticeable presence of what I took to be Somalis (it`s the way they dress makes them stand out). Also, have you been into Ikea of late, there seems to be a disproportionate number working in there.
As you say, I don`t class myself as a racist, but I honestly think that this will lead to trouble and St. Pauls has enough on its plate without adding to it.

I have also seen a change in some of the people I know, where a few years ago, they wouldn`t have mentioned anything about immigration, they now openly talk about "sending them all back...." and I have no doubts that they would vote BNP if they were to stand locally.
The country is already one of the most densely populated on the planet and I think that there are cracks beginning to show and to be honest, having thought about the way things look to be going, I have seriously considered emigrating to NZ :(

The point of posting it was that i have lived here all my life and have always had the opinion of live and let live,i work in retail but i don`t stick notices up stating who can and can`t shop in the store,i don`t hang around super market car parks,stand around in shop door ways during the day (i`m at work why aren`t they).
Don`t get me wrong Alan i`m not saying all Somalians are poor or hang about in intimidating groups just a large amount in my area.

At one stage last year it was almost like St Paul`s Vs Easton we had Blacks against Somalians, armed police patrolling the f***ing streets it was ridiculous.

Someone on a forum i visited (not sure if it was this one) - quoted the leader of that Human Rights charity Liberty and basically they said - unless you are a chav, or have colored skin, then you have no Human Rights in the UK.

I agree with that statement now...

Chavs and criminals have more human rights than victims, and `immigrants` have more human rights than British.

Asylum Seekers claim Sky TV as its against their human rights not to have any TV channels in their own languages. I`ve even heard that some claimed Internet must be provided because its against their human rights..
more than likely in the country they claim refuge from, their TV stations weren`t 24/7, and Internet.. they wouldn`t have even known what that was!

Things have to change soon or else Racism wont just be in another town.. it`ll be in yours..

and neither do I mate, however many people do, of all shapes, sizes, colour and nationality. I`ve lived in several places around Britain, and can state quite happily (if that`s the correct word) that the majority of downright layabouts I`ve come across who I would rather not have my taxes spent on have been white and British (and I`ve been in Lewisham for 8 years as well - thinking of learning some Polish now too :D ..any help from anyone would be appreciated).

and CDR..please some up with something more convincing than hearsay and `fat bloke in the pub told me so it must be true` arguments. I`m white and British, lived in this country for 42 and a bit years and have never felt that any of my `human rights` are being taken away...but I`m fascinated to know which of those you have demanded to have yourself only to find that an `asylum seeker` has prevented you from doing so.
