Nostradamus - Predicted WTC Terrorist attack and WW3?

KingAndy (Competent) posted this on Thursday, 13th September 2001, 14:59

It has been going around the internet that Nostradamus has predicted that of the terrorist attack on the WTC, therefore leading up to WW3. Here is the following statement i received in an email;

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
two brothers torn apart by chaos,
while the fortress endures, the great leader will sucumb.
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning"

If you ask me, people are just creating more fear to an already horrific event. There too vague and could mean almost anything. Different people are going to believe things. What`s not to say that these "prophecies" are just being acted out? Ask me and i say its all aloud of crap.
Feel free to add your own comments.

The thing with predictions is that you can read them in so many ways, the city of god could be more Jerusalem, so the 2 brothers could instead be the jewish and muslim faiths. Or it could be america, or it could be ireland.

Predictions are always so vague, people read into them what they want to see.

I got that one sent round too - It`s all nonsense - that one in particular I think was made up.

In any case Nostradamus spent most of his time ripped to the tits on absynthe (a bit like me :o) and should not be listened too.

See below for another thread from this forum which seems to pretty categorically debunk the whole idea of Big N having prophesied the WTC tragedy.

Prophecies are often vague - anyone heard of Mother Shipton? The old spinster who lived in a cave in North Yorkshire - she predicted that "in the future, Iron will float" - or words to that effect. And I`m sure at some point in history some genius will have predicted that "Man will be one with the birds".

Pinch of salt, and all that...

I think these Nostrabollocks messages can be piled together with the `if you don`t send this to at least 537 people in the next five minutes your tits will fall off` emails....mind you, I suppose there are those who check whether the word `gullible` is in the dictionary or not.
