Liteon LVW-5045 surround sound help ?
Hi, I have just purchaced one of the LVW-5045 160gig hard drive dvd recorders but I am unsure as to how I should set it up with my Benq Projector, my old cheap AWG home cinema dvd player came with 5.1 speakers and built in amp, but with no DTS connection, am I right in thinking I need a seperate amp and speaker package that needs to connect to the Liteon via a DTS digital out cable ?
Thanks

removing old program history ???
I am trying to find a free program to clear out all history of a program (Talisman desktop) as I want to re install it from scratch, but when I try to re install after removing the program via the XP add / remove program wizard, it still gives me the pop up box of program expired (30 day trial)
Is there a program (free) that will clean up these imbeded settings to allow me to do a fresh install, or does anyone have any tips on what I am doing wrong.
Thanks in advance.

RE: Important info on LG 32" tv from Hienergy
In answer to your question, no.
This was a real pain an I am so pleased with the new Sanyo, as it has none of these problems.
RE: Important info on LG 32" tv from Hienergy
The hienergy customer service rep told me about this problem whilst I was on the phone to see about a repair, every set may not be affected but she mentioned that this was a known fault, rather than take the chance I opted for the Sanyo which has just arrived, it is not as bulky the picture does auto formating (with the LG I found it irritating that it did not do this, as well as having to use the remote to switch it on) the sound is superb and if anyone is in doubt abou the LG this set is worth a look.

Important info on LG 32" tv from Hienergy
I posted the original deal on the LG 32" widescreen at £379 from hienergyshop.co.uk, like many I was not without problems, my TV developed a high pitched noise on start up which lasted for about an hour.
When I contacted hienergy the girl told me that there has been quite a few returned with the same problem, I would therfor be able to exchange my set for another (at extra cost), having a look through the web site I saw a nice Sanyo 32" with stand at £509, this seems a good deal for anyone wanting a better quality set and a new 12 month quarantee.
I have had a quick look on the net and £509 seems a good price for the Sanyo, hope this is of some help.

R.I.P thedvdforums.com Bargain section
It seems the other great bargain site has shut down to all but the elite (200 plus posts), I enjoy browsing the boards and although I don`t post many bargains, I like to think even infrequent posters can contribute.
Here`s hoping this site stays open to all.
Thanks

Portable dvd player - phono connections ???_
Hi Guy`s.
I purchased a portable dvd player and screen for our kid to watch on the move and for me to use as a backup when the dreaded soaps are on, however it only has the three phono out jacks and an s-video out on the back.
As I am used to the lush sky and dvd picture I am getting now, I was hoping someone can suggest the best lead I can get to inprove the picture, I gather the yellow video lead is why I get a washout looking picture.
Many thanks in advance.

RE: Which SCART lead and where???
argos still have the half price gold scart cables at around 2.50, I also bought the scart/video/dvd player connection box at 9.75, great bit of kit that not only lets you backup your dvd`s but provides a graet picture through 1 scart cannection to your t.v

RE: dirty harry £19.99 at woolies
Dear Sir/Madam,
Thank you for your e-mail. I have been in touch with our suppliers as to why supply of this item has been delayed.
Unfortunately they have informed us that they have been out of stock for some time and at this time they are unable to advise on an expected date for resupply.
Please accept my apologies that you were not informed earlier, as we rely on updated information from the supplier.
In view of the situation, please advise by return if you are willing to wait or whether you would like to cancel the item and re-order at a later date.
In the meantime, please accept my apologies for the extended delay and any inconvenience caused.
If you have any further issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.
This is the response I got when I enquired about my order, I also note that they have the box set for sale on their web site with no mention of a back order, I am now thinking that they are hoping to hang it out as long as possible to put of those that got in at the sale price of £19.99.
Good luck & keep on top of them.

RE: TV Problem (high-pitched noise)
I have a widescreen sharp and It has started making a high pitched noise also, it seems to be a problem with the scart connection`s, but it does drive me up the wall, I am hoping to open it up and see if it has any loose connections if not it will have to go.

RE: any online DVD clubs apart from Britannia?
Mad Uncle Simes, you could try `The Music Store` I got buy one get 4 free including many double disk sets The Terminator/ Gladiator and the like, I think they are a seperate division of Britannia but this seems a better deal, you have to order 6 items in the first 2 years but that can be DVD/VIDEO/CD.
No web site as yet (coming soon) but you can call them for thier latest offer on 0845 330 2000 or e-mail pleh[at].ku.oc.erotscisumeht
Hope that helps.

MI 1 & MI 2 for £9
Ok not everyones cup of tea, but I ordered these from http://www.playitmovies.com a couple of weeks back, they came yesterday and play well, films are individual seperate boxed disks and not two on one as the web site implies, good range of movies and very good e-mail response via link.
