Does anyone have any idea of the price range? (or any links?)

I have a "bit" saved up and I`ve always loved this car (ever since "The Spy Who Loved Me" :x ). It would be a dream to get one - I just want to know if it is in my price range at all....

Minimum £5K for an early 80`s one,which could well turn into a money pit.
The early ones aren`t exactly known for their reliability or build quality.
They definitely come under `enthusiasts only`.
Top Gear bought a used one a year or two ago,I remember.
It broke down the first time they drove it.

as with all cars it just depends on condition... age is not necissarily the major factor with these, but history will also be important...

I have seen them as low as £1500 but for that you are guarenteed a basket case... right over the £20,000 for a good one... try ebay and keep looking on there to guage the prices...

PH is full of real petrol heads who will be able to guide you on the potential pitfalls of owning an older Esprit.

(I`m thinking about swapping my Honda S2000 for a TVR Tamora and have been picking the brains of the TVR owners on there about the legendary reputation which TVRs in general have for exploding engines and monumental unreliability. It`s a mine of useful information.)
