Evil Dead Region 2

Does anybody have a clue when the whole saga will be released here in the UK on DVD? I recently discovered that the original should be available on Sept 3rd, but by no means is anywhere upto scratch with the Region 1 versions. What were getting is a couple of commentaries and a theatrical trailer, good god.

hi jason,
i dont know if there is gonna be a release here for the evil dead m8,
if it is gonna be released, then it will probably be mostly cut i would think, its the same old story with the region 1 discs too m8,
firstly ,there is a lite entertainment, version out ,now i think there is gonna be an anchor bay version due out too,
same as with the evil dead 2,i.e. the tin,and anchor bay are bringing out another so called special edition,so when is it all gonna stop ,
why so many god damn se ,weird to me ,dont you have any of the evil dead discs m8,i think you would be better off getting the american versions m8,as they are all uncut,so the best of luck trying to get a hold of any british ones you are thinking off,my local shop gets me them in,he actually does a reasonable job,at getting them in for me,he got me death night ,in,and the howling, and, nightmare city in,
and solange.but all in all, check out http://www.dc-dvd.com,he has many horrors too choose from, but be warned you will wait a while,
in getting them in from him, hope this was of some use too you m8.

Like you said Jason, September (3rd) is when R2 finaly gets an instalment of the E.Dead series. The disc is pretty impressive in all fairness (considering how old it is) and has a DTS 6.1 soundtrack on it!, and brand new films rarely get audio-tracks of that quality. The commentaries will be a valuable addition too, as Campbell/Raimi are renowned for their funny observations and self-deprecating style. It`s reportedly the full un-cut version too and this will be the first time it`s been officialy released in the U.K. So give Anchor Bay credit, they`re not just banging any old thing onto a disc and raking in the profit, a fair amount of effort has gone into the package. Hopefully they`ll be equally attentive when putting together the other two films in the series and Highlander aswell, which they`ve also acquired the rights to.

Thanks for the feedback guys, it just puzzles me as to why Anchor wouldn`t release a definite version of the ED series. What were getting just seems kind of lame in comparison to those damn yanks. After all, it was one of the biggest selling franchises on VHS here in the UK, and it has produced a huge cult following. I`ll hold out and see what happens, if no decent versions appear, I`ll be forced to dig deep into my pockets and pay absurd prices on eBay for the limited editions. Aww well, thanks anyway guys.

forget the Anchor Bay version......splash out....get the Elite Entertainment version.....it has both commentaries, and 20 mins of deleted stuff amongst other extras....

it cost me £30.00 ...but it was worth it...
