Page 1 of anyone had problems importing adult dvds..

ive ordered a couple of adult dvds ....and the first few came through customs no problem..sure they ripped the package apart..but the put a letter in side sayin cleared...then i ordered the same films again for my mates at work ..and today i recieved a letter from customs sayin they have been seized..i dont know why..they passed the first few but when i ordered the same ones again they took them..i thought the laws had been changed on adult dvds ..has anyone else had a problem with customs and if you did what did u do about it..

It depends on what the DVDs actually were! "Adult" covers a pretty wide spectrum, of which only a narrow range is allowed to be imported into the UK. If it`s "normal" hardcore adult stuff that would be passed at R18 in the UK then you should get them through no problem - I`d ring up the Customs office concerned and find out what`s happening. As a last resort you can take them to court to try and get your DVDs back, but hopefully it won`t come to that. (I think to some extent they bank on the fact that most people would be too embarrassed to take things further.)

One thing that does spring to mind is that you`re only allowed to import this stuff for your own personal use, not for gain. If they see you`ve ordered more than one of a particular title they may smell a rat ("Hang on! What does he want with two or three copies of the same disc? He must be selling them on!") and seize any subsequent copies.

On the other hand, if you ordered DVDs with titles like "Love Dog" and "Supersex With Goat" (no kidding - they really exist!) then don`t expect to get them back - just put it down to experience. Not that I`m suggesting you would, or anything ;-)

no mike they were normal hardcore..no cats or gary glitter back stage fotage or micheal barrymores pool party home movies.
i think u might be right about the size of package though..
my friends and i ordered 6 dvds and they sent them in the same package..so they might have thought i was gonna sell them..

Why don`t you contact customs and complain that the first time they let it in cleared and the second time they didn`t? I would, since you have already lost the goods you have nothing more to lose.
