Name that book... (Koontz or King I think!) - And some recommendations
The book is about a toy maker who dies and some of his magic toys go on a quest to find a new toy maker. During the book the `good` toys are hunted down by another toy makers `evil` toys. That`s about as much of the book as I can remember!
Any suggestions would be welcome!
Also, I`m off to Portugal for some R&R on Tuesday so if anyone can recommend some books that would be good too.
I'm into my sci/fi fantasy stuff.
Robin Hobb - Amazing!
George R. R. Martin - Amazing!
Terry Goodkind - Enjoyed.
Cheers

Go that way, really fast. If something gets in your way, turn...
And those who dance will spin and turn,
And those who wait will wait no more,
And those who talk will hear the words,
And those who see will fade and die,
And those who laugh will surely fall,
And those who know will always feel their backs against the thin wall...

Dark tower series is great i`m not a massive Sci-Fi fan but I really liked, saying that I prefer Koontz to King I would def recommend some of his older stuff sch as Cold Fires (I think thats the name). I just read odd thomas thats was ok but nowhere as good as any of Koontz older books, I have read nearly all of them at one point or another. Or theres always Harry Potter for easy reading :D
However if you like crime fiction or something like that try Patrica Cornwell, Lisa Gardener, Harlan Coben they are all great authors.
For warish type books I like Andy Mcnab, Fredrick Forsythe, Jack Higgins.
Well I`ll stop now as I have such varied taste I could go on for ages.

Haven`t got a scooby which book you`re on about, but for R&R reading, you can`t go wrong with Dean Koontz (glory years are 1986 - 2000)

the book sounds a lot like a film that robin williams is in, about a toy maker, some evil toys, some good toys, and er some toy things... ah... what the hell was it called?
