im astonished that 72% of you hardly go to the cinema!! for a dvd/movie forums this seems remarkable. i love the feeling of going to the cinema to watch the latest blockuster and cant be matched in front of your tv screen. imagine watching the upcoming episode 3 or LOTR on a small screen first?!?!

No, we just hate chavs, kids, people who talk / snore / cough / snort phlegm, anyone who uses a mobile phone, anyone with food or drink and anyone who sits within a 10 seat radius of us.

Unfortunately, at least one of these people will be in the cinema when we go... and seeing as they won`t let us take guns in with us we just decide not to bother.

My Top 20 Horror Movies ---- My DVD Collection

I went to the cinema this week for the first time since Spider-man 2 was out. Went to see Sahara because my girlfriend and I were bored and just wanted to do something. We went at a decent (non-chav) time and the audience were great.

I take it back then... must just be in my dump of a town (St Helens). I don`t think I`ve been to our local Cineworld without a some kind of problem occuring in years. :(

We have the worst projectionists in the world.

My Collection

Well, I`m at the cinema 2-3 times a week, so don`t look at me.

I do find it shocking, but I live near Edinburgh, which has so many great cinemas for all tastes... it`s pretty easy to keep with a respectable audience. The UGC is the best (obviously because of the unlimited card) and they show a good mixture of arthouse and mainstream.

Cinemas in Edinburgh (remembering that it`s not a massive city):

Odeon - Wester Hailes - Very quiet, nice, clean cinema.
Odeon - Lothian Road (where the old ABC used to be before being demolished :( At least they kept the building) - I`m going to see Episode 3 here for the midnight screening, never been in it before.
UGC - Fountain Park - 13 Screens of joy.
Filmhouse - Mainly arthouse, but they show a good selection of older films as well.
The Cameo - Similar to Filmhouse, lots more legroom than Filmhouse.
Dominion - Nice `bring in the beers` cinema. Not been to it in a long, long time.
Vue - Leith Walk - Nice multiplex, really expensive though, it`s like £6.50 a ticket or something.
UCI - Kinnaird Park - Rubbish early 90`s cinema, last film I saw there was Windtalkers, the screen is tiny, and the sound system is worse than the one I have at home... AVOID!
Ster Century - Ocean Terminal - Nice multiplex, but the armrests are too low for my liking :p

I think that`s it. I go to UGC 95% of the time.

My girlfriend, our kid, and I went to the cinema and it cost is in total which included admission, drinks and popcorn nearly £40!!!

No wonder people are turning to pirate DVDs, when cinemas are charging extortionate prices.

Yeah, but as far as I know it`s not official artwork for the new film. It was on a WOTW website last year which went offline and nobody could find the artwork for ages... came across it the other week by accident.

I think it`s a really cool image, official or not.

Hmm, its 10 miles to the nearest cinema (showing stuff nearly out on video), 15 to the nearest one showing recent films, and about 25 to the nearest big cinema, which is a Showcase, and they annoyed me royally by having a very poor picture quality and adult trailers in Thunderbirds which scared the hell out of my son. Odeon had similar trailers, and is even further away. Think I`ll wait for the DVD :D
