We had a frozen shepherd`s pie that the littlun likes which appeared on the list. We`d actually just cooked it when we thought we`d better check it out - and it promptly ended up in the bin. The only thing is that it was part of a twin-pack, and the other one had been eagerly scoffed by our hollow-legged two-year-old a few days earlier.

The risks are, as I understand it, minimal, but you can`t help but be slightly concerned.

one of the latest additions to the list is worchestershire(sp?) sauce walkers crisps i see :/ my kids boths scoff tons of them
the ready meals ect were not an issue in this house ,cos I dont work I have time to cook all our meals but Im a carer for my mum too and on days when i cant get there or dont have time to cook her a proper meal I do have ready meals on standbye ,It is worrying that it seems to the elderly and kids that are gunna be most exposed to this chemical :/

Somebody should answer for this debacle. The FSA new about the risks on Feb 7th. Only released the info on the 14th to supermarkets, then a day later to us and the media.

The only thing I can see that we might have, are Pot Noodles which the mrs and kids like. Thing is how far do you go, there must be loads of cancer causing things we don`t know about, maybe we shouldn`t bother getting out of bed on a morning. :)

Looking on the FSA website, I noticed another cancer causing item I`d not heard of before...Acrylamide....apparently it`s been known about since 2002, and it cuased by the cooking of food...no way to avoid it, but still cancer causing. So what do we do there...not eat?

Sometimes I think they go too far to try and protect us from everything....my brother used to eat worms and soil when he was a kid (don`t ask), and he`s still here...lol :)

Mark. :)

Probably most of the Tesco ready meals in our freezer need to be got rid of. Not that I`ve actually ate them lately. Gone off since I started eating proper food again :)

If you`re lucky, they`ll be on the list, and you can get a refund for them :D

Got an Iceland Hot Pot in the freezer and im gonna eat it!.
Blimey we`ve had warnings about nearly everything, surely the tiny amount in one of these meals is so minimal that the risk is almost non existant.
