Just want say Happy Diwali to everyone or "Diwali Mubarak" as you`d say in India.
Its the Hindu equivalent of Xmas. Good defeated evil, Light overcame darkness - beats Star Wars!!
The Diwali story can be found here if anyone wants to know what its all about.
Anyway - i`ll be eating lots of sweets today and getting lots of money! We also light candles in the home and its Asha`s first Diwali so bought her some gold and it`ll be extra special. :D :D
If your down the pub tonight - have an extra pint!
Have a good un` :D :D :D

Happy Diwali!
I had an Indian friend where I worked before and she used to bring home made sweets into work - they were fantastic! Can`t remember the name of the though :(
BTW Asha`s a complete cutie - she obviously takes after her mum. Was the gold you got her that gorgeous little bracelet she was wearing in the photo.
Hi Wrabbit,
Nah the bracelet is a traditional bracelet that babies wear to `ward off evil`. We bought her a really cute tiny little gold neclace with a little diamond pendant.
Thanks for the kind comments :)
Neil
Happy New Year everyone :D
I too shall be stuffing my face full of Eastern delights this evening,
after which I shall do my best to bother some animals...
I might set off a couple of fireworks too. 8)

It`s not easy being different. It`s not easy being cool....but somehow I manage....
Happy Diwali to all those that celebrate it.
Personally, I think we have a lot to learn in the west from the Indians, after all you don`t see them having Diwali related crap being shoved down their throats months before like we have to suffer with xmas. ;-)
Plus there are fireworks, where as all the west can offer is burning alcohol on a rubbish round bit of cake.
Where do I sign?

I prefere the chicken tika kebab with minty yougart and the bloody hot chilli sauce from Shanaz near the flyover.
