Can anyone tell me why when I play some DVD`s the subtitles are on by default.. is there a way of stopping this so they only come on when you press the button?

I had the same problem with a Daewoo dvd Player. I sent it back for a software upgrade, which they did free of charge.. I suggest you do the same...
