Its worth remembering why we have fireworks - to celebrate the fact that back in the day, the intelligence services caught the extremist trying to bring the downfall of our democracy. 8)

Stop your sodding MOANING! I bet you liked it when you were a kiddy! It happens once a year and people have fun. You wanna try living in a country that has a MASSIVE fireworks display EVERY DAY for about 2 months!! Get over it you miserable bugger.
Guy Fawkes was only caught as his friends blabbed on him, had they not, he would have succeeded therefore the intelligence services failed, just like today. If ONLY he had managed to blow the monkeys up then maybe the royals wouldd have been next. We NEED a revolution people!!!

Come on Elephant Stone, lighten up (no pun intended) my wee granddaughter Ellie has been very excited looking at the flashes and colours in the sky. Yes I know the chavs try to spoil it with their behaviour, but the many that enjoy bonfire night makes up for it. :)

Are you ex army? Then fair enough. The majority of our children enjoy bonfire night. Last night here in our area, the fireworks all died down aftet 11 pm.

So far this year I only heard the fireworks start up last Thursday around 18.00 in Dartford & all this week at work. Chavs would seem to have got bored or seen sense this year.

Didnt see (or wasnt watching) the usual displays as the train thundered through towns (FGW actually ran to time & schedule last night :) ).

I only noted the fireworks (displays) once I got off the train for the 7 min walk home.

Fireworks tonight for the family in the back garden (I wont be having to advance a PC rebuild between fireworks like I did last year TG :) ).

I`m all for the kiddies enjoying fireworks night but something has to be done somewhere. The night before last just as I was going off to sleep a GREAT BANG & totally awake, again about half hour later the same, PRETTY PI**ED OFF. Last Night at 3.00am (in the morning) BANG.... woke up then a little later BANG crackle & so on. SOMETHING HAS TO BE DONE.
