When i saw this message I thought it was some kind of wind up - what terribly sad news. I grew up with JP during the 1975-80 period when i listened to him just about every night. He introduced me to so many great bands that I would ordinarily have missed not to mention his championing The Fall - one of the best bands the UK has ever produced.
