Mice - The Fookers

I work for a major accountancy and professional services firm on the first floor of one of our plush buildings.

Beginning of the week, I decide to make the decision to eat more healthily - cereal and oaty, nutty kind of stuff for breakfast, etc. Yesterday afternoon, I make the short trip to the Sainsbury`s Central at Holborn to stock up on Fruit `n` Fibre, a bag of raisins and some nutty cluster-type cereals. Put the aforementioned items in my desk pedestal for safekeeping.

Come into the office this morning very early (first one in on the floor) with my pint of milk looking forward to a tasty but healthy breakfast. Log onto my laptop and see an email from one of our secretary`s stating that there has been an outbreak of mice and can staff please not leave food in their draws because that`s the cause of the problem.

You can work out what`s coming, can`t you.....

On reading the email, I open the bottom drawer of my pedestal and there it is - a fooking mouse looking up at me surrounded by nutty clusters and raisins all over the place. Whoever said "There`s no need to be afraid of anything smaller than you" was talking out of his backside. I swear I would have won the Olympic high jump competition, I leapt that high in the bloody air.

Mouse scurries off somewhere out the back of the drawer, onto the floor and into the electrical ducts at floor level. Me, I am left shaking like a leaf.

I`ve just had the cleaners round to disinfect my desk area. Also received a stern lecture from a health and safety jobsworth about the dangers of leaving food in draws overnight, etc.

Feel like a bloody great pansy, I do...

:D LMAO

and I thought it was just older women that jump on top of the nearest chair at the slightest threat of a mouse appearing!

That`ll teach you for trying to be healthy, get down to McDonalds and have a big fat burger immediately ;)

The good news is they also like cables, so with any luck they will chew through all your electrics and phone lines and you`ll have to have a few days off work until they fix it. Who says it couldn`t happen...

ROFL - Saw a guy do his own impression of spiderman & tried to climb up the wall when he saw a money spider that a girl at work had picked up & taken it to show him (& see his reaction).

There are 10 types of people in the world - Those who understand binary and those who don`t.
