Boxing Day Trains

cfgte3 (Elite) posted this on Monday, 13th September 2004, 18:58

Evevning all,

I wonder if any of you noble and esteemed chaps and chapesses could possibly help me out with a query I have regarding the shoddy train service in this rapidly decaying country.

I need to get to Norwich from London. Simple enough, eh? Nope. Unfortunately I need to travel on Boxing Day, arriving in the early afternoon and coming back in the evening. I know its a while in the future but does anyone know from experience what sort of service is likely to be running on the day? Do I have a hope in hell?

Any help much appreciated,

Cheers,

Rich

I prefer 14th April myself. Oh bollocks, that doesn`t really work quite as well does it? :)

Cheers for the replies.

If you`re coming in to Liverpoool Street and you had better hope it is not raining, expect a very, very slow service. :( Oh yea, watch out for cancellations too and if you are travelling back in the evening make sure you leave plenty of time to get home.

I think that very few trains run on Boxing Day - most lines are usually closed. Good Luck!

Richmach,

If memory serves me correctly, Boxing Day has a Sunday service (i.e. fairly crap). When you go through Chelmsford, I`ll look out for you - remember to wave!
