The Minister (Competent) posted this on Friday, 30th July 2004, 09:21

Any one know what the medal is made from e.g Siler, siver plated etc etc.

I have just found this medal and did a search on the internet but could not find out what it was made of.

I want to get it cleaned and frame it for my dad but i dont want to do it if it will ruin it.

Thanks guys

something very similar here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=67580&item=2260243821&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW
but as it`s a museum replica the materials may be different, i`de sugest being a bit cheeky and asking the seller for a little advice, he seems to know his stuff & i`m sure he`ll help if you explain :)

HOPE THIS HELPS

Minister

The best thing to do would be to contact the medal issuing body, in your fathers case that would be the following

The Medals Section,
Ministry of Defence,
Centurion Building,
Grange Road,
Gosport,
Hampshire PO13 9XA.

Telephone: 01705 702003
FAX: 01705 528424

They should be able to provide you with all the necessary information.
