Been listening to Cat Stevens for the last few hours and TBH , like the Corn Flakes advert, I forgot how good he was.

Father and Son, If I Laugh, Into White, Lady D`Arbanville, Morning Has Broken etc. all absolutely wonderful tracks to listen to .

Jeez, or should that be by Allah he was good.

Memories of all my winching days with my good lady :D

Whilst I agree that Cat wrote some classics such as "Father and Son", "Moonshadow" etc, don`t forget he also wrote some classy pop songs.

I`ll forever remember "I`m Gonna Get Get Me A Gun" (not PC I know but still a great song!), "Matthew and Son" and "I Love My Dog".

Matthew & Son is a great track, it was on an album called The Marquee - 30 legendary years - a bloody good album too!

I`m surrounded by Breakdancing strippers!

Don`t mean to brag, but I know Yusuf quite well. he now lives in a village not far from here. Never deliberately listened to his music tho, funnily enough

I recommend Catch a Bull at Four, and Tea for the Tillerman, both very good albums.

I guess my appraisal was a little juvenile. Don`t like him though. ;)
