Today i got a notice through my letter box saying that i have to pay if i want to get my parcel. The price is £9.56 i can only assume its the 3 dvds that i ordered for £36 but this is too much for a parcel worth 36 isnt it i worked out that for 36 3.5% duty and 17.5% vat works out at around less than £7.50 so whered they get the extra £2 from? Where can i complain?
I work for the Royal Mail and £1.20 is the HANDLING CHARGE.Although they are not resposible for the customs charge, they do want to milk as much as possible.Ring Royal Mail Customer Services on 0345 740 740.They may be able to assist you.
who did you order from?
Yeah, tell us, who you order from
i ordered from cdnow about 1 month ago before i really knew anything about the customs w***ers. then i found out and wanted to cancel but they said im too late and its already been shipped so what are you gonna do it was 3 dvds
I ordered 3 criterion dvds from Amazon.com and got charged £15.96 by the postie. Never again - I think I`ve just been very unlucky though because most people seem to have received their amazon.com parcels via holland which eliminates the duty etc..
