Wharfedale 750 and Independance Day SE

Schui (Harmless) posted this on Thursday, 8th March 2001, 13:07

I got a Wharfedale 750 and Independance Day SE..

the disk 2 (cut scenes) works fine, but disk 1 just wont start... the screen just shows the DVD Logo

is this a common problem with the player, or is it the DVD
I`ve tried 2 copies from Tescos, and still no luck.

Anyone know who I should contact?

regards

Schui

Schui,

Just watched my region 1 copy of ID4 SE on my 750S(latest) and both disks work fine.

Maybe as you`ve now tried 2 copies of the R2 from Tesco`s it could either be the R2 disk setup or maybe the 750 has an issue with it.

Do you know anyone with the R1 version that you could compare with ?

Cheers

Chris

Give the disc a good clean...it may help!

It works okay on the 750s. This appears to be a more tolerant DVD player out of the two. Sadly I do not know the availability of it at present.
Make sure that they haven`t done a "Gladiator R2" foul up on you. If so you are well within your rights as a paying customer to get them to change it.

Good luck.

BennyBoy.

Having just ordered the Region 2 from play247 I was worried about this, it arrived today and plays fine. I have what I believe is the older version of the 750 without a DTS logo, though it does have a little red LED that comes on when it recognises dolby digital.

So some 750 machines will play it. Which probably just makes it more complicated for you.
