I got my Goodmans 3000dvd for £169 + 10% kingfisher discount
It can be hacked from remote to play all regions. Has all the main specs:
integrated 5.1 dolby digital convertor etc. also plays music cds. I got this cos it was cheap. I will splash out once the recordable ones come out but this will get me by till then

You can get Tosh SD100s for about £200. Quality mid-range machines from a `name` brand. Never had a disc that won`t play, and the layer change times are acceptable too. Can be a bit slow navigating menus though. I think most people would agree that it`s got great picture quality. I also have a Sammy 709, which is good apart from the layer change. The newer 511 models might fix this though.

No that`s no good Chris. For £200 it has to be flawless and have every feature, else it won`t do for Sammy!

You`re not doing too well, at this rate it`ll take you ages before you`ve owned all the players.

So what`s after the Pioneer!!!

You can get the Lecson DVD-900 from Debenhams for £199 (£189 if you get a Debenhams store card on the spot)
It`s multi-region remote hackable, has a built in Dolby Digital decoder, can play CDRWs, MP3 CDs, VCDs, has 2 SCARTs and looks and sounds great.
It also gets full marks in the What HiFi and What DVD reviews.
