What Amp?? Expert advice needed
Hi I am looking at buying an A/V amplifier reciever. I have a budget of up to £300 but would like to find one around £200-£250 if possible.
I currently have a Panasonic TV with 1 Scart and Audio/Visual connectors. I have a VCR which is plugged into the TV through Scart. I have a Pioneer 525 DVD which is plugged into the TV through the Audio/Visual connectors. I have a Wharfedale surround kit waiting for my amp, which consists of a Sub, 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and 1 centre one. I would be greatfully helpful if you could give me some advice on an amp in my price range that I could run all these things through. The amp must have Dolby Digital 5.1, and DTS decoders. I`m not bothered about much else as long as it sounds good and can connect all my units together. Also if you could recommend any places that sell the amp(s) you recommend, that would be great.
Your help would be greatfully appreciated.
Thanks, Chris Horton
A Sherwood might be a good idea to check out. There is a model with built in DD and DTS, try Richer Sounds site at:

Although its as confusing as feck these days, with no detail on the products at all. Ringing your nearest store would be better.

Technics do an amp called SA-DX930 this has on board DD and DTS decoding and has an output of 100w per channel (or so they say).
I have one and I am very pleased with mine.
You can pick one up for under 250 pounds.
Note it only has Optical digital input.
As long as your player has optical output this too will work with your set up.
I have wharfedale Valdus 100 fronts and they work great with this amp.
