I too had the problems with my first player. i telephoned them straight away and they confirmed that the problems were known of ( knobody trie d to deny them) They called me straight back as promised. They said that the problems were bieng addressed and that the new players wre to be available from 15th of August or sooner. I telephoned them on Monday and on tuesday morning they took my old player away and left me with a new one. They did not charge me a penny. I called the office on Monday to check if the problems on the new batches were now fixed and they confirmed that that they were. I asked about the firm ware and they confirmed all new players should be rectified. I received my new player and so far no problems. All the previous problems seem fine now. I feel that Scan have been very good in this matter and I cannot fault them. They have confirmed all my problems and called me back as promised. they have been both kind and curteous towards me and I cannot praise them enough. They said that if I experience any further problems then I should not hesitate to give them a ring. I have had my fair share of faulty goods this year ie four pcs going wrong and two tvs and now my dvd player so it was nice to find a company that did (despite comments otherwise) treat me very well and kind. Scan have admitted that they got it wrong this time and have done something about it so give them a chance.

I`ve been considering buying an SC2000 for a couple of weeks and decided to wait a while longer after all the reports of faults. Is it now the case that all their stock is totally fault-free? No scart problems, no dark pixelly / compression problems? Has anyone else got their replacement player and is everything fine?
Thanks
No the problems are not fixed. I got my replacement player yesterdsay and the problem of the pixelating background in dark areas is still evident. I telephoned customer services this morning and they said tht if I had a problem then I could return my player for a second one as the second batch are all fixed now. I explained to them that this was my second player and the fault was still there. I was put through to Stuart on technical and he said the fault was just a quirk of the player and what would you expect from a cheap budget player!! He told me tht he had one and just had to put up with it. I asked to be put through to a senior member of staff and was rung back. I spoke to a Wesly Aldred and he informed me that the problem was not a problem that could be fixed as it was just what the player was like. I was told that the reason was final. I asked for them to collect my player but I was told that I would have to send it back myself. I complained bitterly and threatend them with trading standards and he agreed to repay any postage if I send in my recipt of postage (
which was a whopping £17.50) I said that I had his name and that if i did not recieve my postage in full then there would be hell to pay. He assures me that I will receive a full refund. So if any one else decides to send the crap scan 2000 back ask for Wesley Aldred!!!!!!1 Yesterday I was foolish enough to defend Scan but I must of needed my bumps feeling as I have seen the light and now realise what a crap firm they are. DO NOT BUY A SCAN 2000 under any circumstances !!!!

Testify! Brother! As soon as I can get these funboys to pick up the phone its going back!
I will wait for the LG3350E out at the end of the month.
is the lg3350e multi region and does it play mp3 and cdrs
Techtronic said they are going to customize it when they get enough of them in september.
Yes it does play mp3.
but I think it doesnt play VCD`s
The SMart 3000 does it all, it even has a built Ntsc->RGB decoder for backing up to video:P
but I dont know how good its picture is.
