Return of the King `available` already.

sj (Elite) posted this on Friday, 19th December 2003, 10:22

Didn`t take long and it`s already `available`.
Picture OK but sound a bit hissy. Apparently.

If ever there was a film you had too see (first) on the big screen though, this is it.
Don`t cheat yourself and see it first how it`s meant to be seen..

Come on Ste, bet you`ve already got it "queued up". :D

Any idiot who downloads this instead of watching the film in the cinema would have to be a complete dick anyway. I made the mistake of watching Spider-Man on SVCD (albeit a good copy) instead of seeing it in the cinema. NEVER AGAIN! :/

Yes, the UGC pass. :D
This is the best bargain I`ve ever had. £120 a year for unlimited cinema and Edinburgh has a good UGC that shows a balance between mainstream and arthouse films. As a student doing a TV Ops course (I`m in it for the film making 8) ) it certainly is my preciiiiiooous.

And anyone that downloads this, shame on you. I`m strongly against movie piracy, but I`m not too bothered if someone wants to download LXG or Texas Chainsaw Massacre... but this is LORD OF THE RINGS, a film which has an ever-growing fan base and is among the best films ever made (it really is just one 10-11 hour movie). This deserves your cash and is one of the few films that has a faint chance of toppling Titanic`s record of $1.8 Billion World Wide Gross. I know it`s unlikely that Titanic will be knocked off it`s perch (no other film has crossed the billion dollar mark!), but there is always hope, a fools hope ;)

What was this topic about again? :/

Are they allowing DVD Screeners this year at the Oscars then? They were trying to ban them because of piracy. I remember this time last year, only days after Harry Potter 2 was released there was a DVD Screener kicking around.

Still, this Xmas/New Year period is a great time for those Oscar DVD Screeners, I nearly forgot all about them, cheers Dukey. :D

@ whichever mod deleted the URL from Irondukes post.. what was the reasoning out of interest in removing the link? It`s not as if you can directly link to the pirated material or even locate it through the site? Just out of interest mind.. :D

If there`s a link provided to a site that has ROTK available, (ILLEGALLY i might add), then they can also trace where it came from. Now, hyperthetically, if everyone on here decided to link thru and download a copy and we were found out, Reviewer would be in deep trouble, simple as.

We are not here to condone piracy. Don`t be cheapskates and fiddlers, do it the right way and go to the flicks, then wait for the official DVD.

If you can`t be bothered to do that, then talk about it elsewhere - not on here.
