Maybe I`m mistaken, but isn`t this a DVD forum?

Jimbo :oÞ (Elite Donator) posted this on Thursday, 8th February 2001, 22:25

Why have I posted with the heading above?

Simple. For every recent thread I have read or posted to, the original subject line seems to disappear shortly after the post to become a few people having flame wars!!

OK, so some of them are funny.
Some of the comments I agree with.
But I have to say it`s time to draw the line.

There seems to be certain individuals involved in starting it every time (no names mentioned), and certain peeps get drawn in quickly and easily, tarnishing their own names! (again, no names, but generally good peeps who post helpful stuff, but stand up for themself and get the blame of starting the whole flame!!)

Come on guys, let`s get it cleaned up in here!

Feel free to post and slag this off..I`m sure by the third or fourth reply there will be a new flame/slagging match started anyway!

AIWA 370 (officially) ROCKS!!!!!!

I just pointed this out on another thread!

Its really funny what happends sometimes though, like on the other thread (under 18?) it started with somebody asking about buying online and ended with incest accusations.

We should place bets on how long it takes before people just lose control and lash out at wee scallywags like me.

Aye.

Yeah,

This is about right. I have become so disenchanted with people who digress from the subject at hand to irrelevant claims of which player "ROCKS !!!!!!!!" that I`ve all but given up on this forum.

I would suggest that the moderators should maybe consider removing messages that are in that vein but it would mean a lot of supervision which isn`t really why the forum is here.

C`mon folks, try to stick to the point. If you want to be childish and claim your player is better than mine, well guess what. I don`t give a s***. I also don`t care if you think a particular film I`m asking a technical question about is any good or not.

Arguing about which player is better is little more than a case of ...

Is too ...
Is not ...
Is too ...
Is not ...

Is too ...

Boring, isn`t it?

If that is all that you think is worth talking about, then may I politely suggest you get a life?

This forum is for the asking of questions and the exchange of information that makes the DVD experience better for all of us.

Yeah I completely agree with you there Jimbo! I guess I`m one of those people who get drawn in easily to take out the trash! But I guess if we just ignore the losers here they might just go away (except bear - that saddo will hang around here forever - the no-life has nowhere else to go!)

As of now I won`t get drawn into these no-hopers who get off on ruining the place. I`m done making them look like twats, I`ve realised I don`t need to anymore, they do a fine job of that on their own! ;-)

Hmmm, I wonder if we had an abuse forum whether it would make things worse or better in the others? :-)

Ezekiel 25:17. ‘The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and goodwill, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!’”

Possibly the moderators should start a forum "childish" :) but seriously it has become disinchanting for the people who start threads knowing that further on some loser goes and starts flaming everyone and everything. If anything try and act slightly more considerate, as there are often the of chance that minors look at this site purely for information. I don`t think that the moderators want profanity expressed in their hard work, it really tarnishes people. I do look at other forum ("traitor!!!") and some of these are very concise about profanity, regardless of whether there are moderators or not. Take a leaf from them and act sensibly. (after this, I`m guessing someones going to call me a tw*t)
