I`ve cracked it. I finaly sussed out what to get the missus for X-mas.

Yep - its the latest `must have` for all laydeez.

A ceramic Hair straighener. The brand GHD are supposed to be the Rolls Royces in the straighening world but at £100 a pop they`re not cheap however yr missus will be well chuffed.

Was wondering if anyone out there knows where the best places are to get them - online or off??

I bought these for the missus directly from their online store. I can`t find the site but when I get home I`ll dig it out for you.

The service was excellent, they turned up about 2 days after they were ordered and were cheaper than buying from the salon she goes to or from most of the online stores I`ve seen.

I got some for a friend from local hairdresser for £99 about 6 months ago don`t forget the Protection Spray/oil when using the tongs. Nearly burnt her ears they got so hot. Ouch!

This is a great site - really quick and friendly service.

I would recommend that you buy windles rather than ghds - very similar product but they dont tend to blow up !!!

I`ve been using them for almost a year now and couldn`t be without them.

Get the lady anything other than GHD and you`ll never hear the end of it. She got some last xmas - cost £90 from the local ladies posh hairdressers.

Yr quite right - it was GHD that was on Watchdog. Im sure they would have sorted the problem by now though - any half decent company wouldnt want a fault like that and the neg press.

I found them on look fantastic for £89.99 too.

What did they say about GHDs blowing up? My Friends had hers for 6 months without any problems - should I warn her? She thinks they`re great the best straightners she`s ever used - no complaints.

It was most likely just a faulty batch and no big problem as far as im concerned. There were a few which started smokin. It may be somet to do with leaving them on for too long.
