Richer Sounds extended warranty...........

I bought my Tosh SD100 from RC coming up for 3 years ago for £199 and at the time took out their extended warranty for £30. The promise was that they would give me 50% buyback (ie £100) off my next purchase after the 3 years had expired, provided I had not used the warranty in that period.
Well, it`s very nearly time up and I wondered whether they will actually give my £100 off a new DVD player given that the one I`m interested is around £100 (so I get a new player for FREE).
My machine has no scratches, dents etc. the remote works and I kept the box - it is in "as new condition"!

Anyone had problems with RC and their buyback warranty? Is this too good to be true?
I don`t want to turn up with my boxed DVD to be told to go forth.....

Hi..
You should have no problems whatsoever.
In August this year,i took back my old samsung 709 (which i`d paid £240 for) & did a straight swap for the Cambridge Audio dvd53 (costing £119.99)....
Hope this helps,
Mark :)

I managed to take my Sherwood amp (£200) and Eclipse DVD player (£170) and got £185 to spend. Having taken out the extended warranty on my new purchases I notice that the guaranteed buy back is now `stepped` ie Half the value in the first year, a third in the second year and a quarter in the final year. Makes sense from their point of view as my eclipse is probably worth £15 second hand and they had to fork out £85. I still think that it provides a good deal for the customer. No complaints here!

I took advantage of the free service no less than 3 times under my extended warranty for a Phillips CDR. As soon as I was handed the machine back after the third (a mere two days before the 3 year warranty ran out) I traded for the full 50%. Having the original packaging, manual and remote control (where applicable) should guarantee the full 50%.

My warranty that came with a Wharfedale 750S in Dec 02 also has the 50%, 30% & 20% split for 1, 2 and 3 years. I was going to take it back for £60 but the kids have broken the draw flap. The warranty says the goods must be in "very good condition" - has anyone got any money back for a dvd that is damaged ??

I too have wondered about this one. I got a Bush 2004 for about £180 coming up for 3 years ago this Xmas. Its in excellent nick, but some of the lettering on the remote is worn and I havent got the packaging. Wondered how much they`d give me back on it. Anyone taken anything back WITHOUT the box?
