Follow on from Eighties thread - does anyone remember bogies? Not the snotty ones...
For those of you who don`t know what these are: long plank of wood with another shorter plank nailed onto the rear. Fix the larger pair of a set of pram wheels to this piece of wood. Towards the front of the long plank drill a hole and insert a long bolt and nut at the same time fitting another short piece of wood ( with hole drilled thru centre). Attach the smaller pair of the pram wheels to this piece of wood. The optional extra was fitting a pice of rope to this bit of wood for steering.

Ahhhh happy memories!! A friend of my grandmother made mine, complete with the bit of rope for steering, although you could just use your feet to push the front plank one way or another. Hours of fun and no mistake!
I`d definitely concur that, round our way at least, a go-kart was a different animal. They had pedals and a seat...

Hi all,
In my days, well before the eighties and even further back to the forties/fifties they were known as `Trollys`.............Hours of fun, bruised knees and scuffed shoes.
Life was a lot simplier then, apart from the second world war into which I was born.
Antz.

We called them Bogies dave.
Usually pulled a pram to bits for the back wheels. Im from the north east and Bogies were what we called them, are you a notherner too.
I can remember being pulled along behind a bike on one of those three wheeler tractor things, only for it to tip over and be dragged a fair few yards cheek first.
I started screaming like you do when youre a kid but it didnt hurt that much really but I balled my eyes out anyway.
I can remember going back to school and them thinking I`d been a victim of domestic violence, but their werent any scratches or bruises off my parents just broken bones.
No only kidding I had quite a good childhood, I could get up to the eyes in muck and it wouldnt be a problem to my mother. If my kids get dirty my missus goes off it with them.
How things change.
