Best place to buy a nice warm winter coat?

julianf (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 20th September 2003, 10:14

...what do we think...something that could maybe go over a suit and look casual enough to go with jeans, nice and big, below the waist but above the knees...

Not leather, not classic wool overcoat, maybe Barbour tweed/country style or something like the Frank Thomas bike jackets that look the business but are full of body armour! French Connection has got a nice parka for £160 with detachable lining.

Come on - if you`ve just bought a new jacket for the winter stick it in here...

Come back Billy Connolly - all is forgiven.

I tried on a quality Gant coat today, fleece lined. Went really nice with my jeans, but may not be smart enough to go with a suit. They did have some smarter ones too i noticed, but werent really what i was looking for. They`re really good quality, worth checking out (Can be quite expensive tho :/ )

No stay with the thought that this weather will last all year I have just returned from a fantstic day again on the beach to go along with the three days at the start of last week .
This weather has been great.
I survive with surf fleezes all year and a snowboarding jacket .
