ok this will probobly be pretty controversial with some people but does anyone think the latest star wars prequels really really suck for these reasons

1: bad over use of CGI which in my opinion always looks fake
2: none of the actors compare to the actors in the original films
3: the films dont fit in with the older films and are just plain and simple no where near as good
4: jar jar binks
5: jar jar binks

so does anyone agree with me or are you all star wars fanatics ?

Looks fake in certain scenes, but in others it looks great. You have to credit the man for pushing the envelope though.

I`m not entirely sure I`d agree with that. Ewan McGregor, Christopher Lee, Natalie Portman and Ian McDiarmid are all good actors, it`s just the material that lets them down.

They`re different, that`s for sure. There are things I like about the new trilogy, but as you say, on the whole they`re not as good.

will prob get crucified for this but the guy actually made star wars and wether u like it or not he has right to tweak it how he sees fit.

moaning and bitching is not gonna get you anywhere on this 1.

i agree with everyone that there should be his ultra cut and the original released on dvd but if it ain`t gonna happen what do u sugeest to get him to listen?

yeah its up to him to do what he wants , and im not a big fan so i cant really say if the fans like them or not , but i think they are very dissapointing.

so u won`t be getting the digitally tweaked indy boxset then? :)

Not a big fan of Indy myself, past the first one that is. I can see why various pickey operations do so well though, as they privode something that Lucas won`t : the original trilogy on DVD.

Lucas is a philistine that doesn`t understand originality.

Take Michaelangelo for example. What would people say today if he came back and said `Hmmmm...you know that ceiling I did could do with a re-work....` or `I think I`ll put an 8"-er on that statue of David........`

Why doesn`t GL release the cleaned up originals on 1 DVD, then his ponced-up versions on another and let the buying public decide.

George Lucas is setting a very dangerous precedent in the film industry. When a film was finished, it was handed over to the Studio and that was the end of the matter. Barring executive intervention or that of moral guardians, pictures were in the form they would be known to history by. In the cases where Studios messed around with films, it`s good that directors can now show us what they originally intended with "director`s cut"s, but what GL is doing is different. He`s taking movies he isn`t satisfied with and he keeps tweaking away at them. It`s like a painter turning up at your door and saying "I`m not happy with the cheesy smile that bird`s got" and proceeding to repaint part of the picture - or an author turning up and biro-ing in a correction to a novel on your shelf. It just isn`t really done.

Get a grip, George. You finished these movies in `83. Move on.

I agree that the origional films were great, but what has let down the first two of the new Star war films has been HAM FIST ACTING.

Mind you there has been a few belly laughs like YODA one minute hobling along with a walking stick and then zooming around like a bat out of hell throwing that light sword alll over the place. All in the cinema was in an uproar of laughter !!!
