Page 1 of UN Inspectors find Chemical Warheads in Iraq

looks like thats it.... might have to change my honeymoon destination.... transatlantic flights don`t seem so appealing all of a sudden

You can imagine good old George and Tony sitting there, trying to think of a way to spark the fire, then having this placed in their faces. In eloquent French: Saddam and his regime are now finally f***ed...good job too.

The news site I`m reading says "UN inspectors have found 11 empty chemical warheads in excellent condition at an ammunition storage area in Iraq... similar to ones imported by Iraq during the late 1980s".

We already knew they had chemical & biological weapons back then (didn`t they gas all those Kurds? Oh, that was us on Winston Churchill`s advice, wasn`t it? Oh, no, we both did it) - so this isn`t news.

If they were FULL warheads, or empty but more recent ones, then I`d be much more worried. I think it`s still too early to say we`ve found the smoking gun, sooo maybe you`ll still get to Florida for your post-nuptials.

I`ve always though that, while Saddam is a dictator over his people, the way B+B are going about this, if it was a firearm posession case, it would get thrown out of court.

I have, in my flat, 2 spent shell casings from a 9mm Glock I fired on a firing range in Oz, and I also have an empty Magazine from a Beretta, which has a knackered spring.

By George`s standards, they could put me away for at least 5 years for posession, and intent.

This find has been termed the "smouldering gun". As mentioned above if the empty warheads are dated pre Gulf War then Saddam et al can say they failed to tidy up some rubbish. As ever we`ll just have to wait and see.

I don`t think Saddam would be that stupid to leave empty warheads waiting to be used lying around.

It is more likely the fact they were used in pre gulf war, and Saddam is so sneeky, and if the warheads were ready to be used he would of made sure the UN inspectors wouldn`t of found them.

I mean were talking about a man who has 6 or 7 imposters of himself, so he doesn`t put himself at risk from any assasinations, so he`s not that stupid.

I`m backing Saddam, in fact I think he should be taken out but aren`t these things around 20 years old.

Makes you wonder if an American/British stocktake of all weapons would have taken this particular category into account.

B+B are just looking for an excuse, as they say `any excuse will do` to justify attacking Saddam, the losers in the end though are the normal inhabitants of Iraq.
