Win XP Shutdown Problem...

Flyer (Elite) posted this on Sunday, 12th January 2003, 18:35

Sorry if it`s the wrong forum. I have a problem trying to shut the PC down, I haven`t uninstalled anything or modified any programmes or anything and just wondered if like in "Office", there is a detect and repair option for the XP OS? The machine does all it should during shutdown but gets to the last stage and just "hangs" with nothing but the mouse pointer on the screen. Gotta go now but any posts gratefully received and will be responded to tomorrow. (Don`t want to be thought of as ignorant!)

Thanks in advance for any help chaps.

All the best... F...

Do you have "easy cd creator plat. 5" ?

If you do... and it is NOT the XP update version it hangs EVERYTIME !

Got really p***** off trying to find that one.

A lot of internet download progz can do the same.

Thanks rigger, only got "Ahead Nero" of that type of thing and Zone Alarm and AVG Free virus checker off the web. I`ll have a crawl the installed progs and see if there`s any other stuff thats crept in through the Mrs or Little lad.
Cheers for the input though mate.
